Abava is the largest tributary of Venta – quite calm, but closer to Venta it forms a slightly faster and rapids section. A very popular river, especially for boaters, because it is suitable for both big and small, professionals and beginners.

Abava valley is one of the most floristically rich regions of Latvia, where many species characteristic only to the western part of Latvia are found. Rock outcrops, springs, waterfalls, caves and other works of natural art are found in the Abava Valley. Nature lovers will be able to appreciate Abava’s clean environment and wilderness, which in its own way soothes and relieves unnecessary daily stress.

Abava hub is a multi-level waterfall in the middle of the Abava River in the Abava Valley Nature Park. It is a unique and beautiful Latvian nature object, that attracts tourists, as the area around the waterfall is specially equipped with rest and overnight places, as well as nature trails and other sights that allow you to enjoy the beauty of the Abava River and its surroundings peacefully and without haste.
